Payment
Once you have placed an order, payment will be required up to 2-4 weeks in advance of collection or delivery, depending on the work involved in your particular order. This can be discussed and agreed at the time of ordering.
You can pay either by cheque, BACs, PayPal or cash.
Cheques should be made payable to Michelle Newson and can only be accepted if time allows for the payment to be processed and funds cleared. BACS details will be passed on at the time of ordering and for PayPal payments, a surcharge of 3.5% will be incurred by the customer. Cake orders cannot be placed and carried out without the funds reaching CupaCake in the specified times outlined.
For large orders, such as weddings a 25% non-refundable deposit will be required at the time of booking to secure your wedding date. CupaCake prefers not to take on too many wedding orders at once, giving special care and attention to those special few at a time, so saving the date is really important! The remainder of the payment will then be due 4 weeks prior to the wedding date.
Sponge Handling
CupaCake boasts freshness! All cupcakes are made fresh to order and the cakes are at their very best on the day of collection/delivery. A day after and your cupcakes will still taste delicious, however, after this, we cannot guarantee moist and fresh sponge and like any cake bought from a shop, it will not be at it’s optimum best!
To store your cupcakes leave them in the box they come packaged in when delivered or collected. Store at room temperature, but do not put your cupcakes in the fridge and keep them out of direct sunlight
Setting Up
CupaCake offers a setting up service and would advise customers to use this. The last thing you want on any event is the worry of having to set up the stand and cakes. For a fee of £25.00, it takes the hassle away from you.
Once CupaCake has set up your cakes at any given venue, we cannot be held responsible for cakes thereafter. If the cakes are knocked over, eaten (by someone else), or for example if the heating in the room is increased by the venue organizers, any untoward incidents will not be the liability of Cupacake. It is always a good idea to allocate one person in your party to be on ‘cake duty’ once they have been set up.
Delivery & Collection
CupaCake cakes can be collected directly from us or delivered. Collection and/or delivery are by arrangement only and free within 5 miles of our premises. All other areas will be quoted at the time of booking.
It is essential that when delivery is confirmed, someone is at the location to receive the cupcakes. Cupcakes do not respond well to a cold doorstep or the blistering sun, so if for any reason the recipient is not in, we will return the cakes to our premises where the collection can be made.
Ingredients
CupaCake uses only the best and finest quality ingredients to ensure our cupcakes taste as good as they look! We use only free-range eggs, quality branded ingredients such as Green & Blacks Cocoa and high cocoa content chocolate.
Our cupcakes may contain traces of nuts as we use ingredients that could have been produced in a factory where nuts are used in other products. All our cakes contain gluten, eggs, and dairy products, so they are not suitable for those suffering from intolerances or allergies to these particular foods.
Packaging
Our cupcakes are packaged safely in boxes specifically designed for cupcakes. As such, they should arrive at you in the same perfect condition they left us in. Once you take your cupcakes from us, they are yours to treasure and we cannot be held responsible for any harm that may come to them in transit, so please remember to drive carefully! Our cupcakes like to be handled with care.
Image Cupcakes
We are happy to print any image supplied by our customers onto cupcakes and cannot be held responsible for any copyright laws that may be associated with the images supplied. It is the client’s responsibility to make sure that any image supplied to CupaCake that may have a copyright, has been given the authorisation to use.
Cupcake Courses
Courses are tailored for a maximum of 4 participants, therefore, a course will only go ahead if the class has a minimum of 3 participants. We will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule your place on another course date. Refunds cannot be issued.
Once you book a course, you are committing to the date you have reserved and therefore, refunds cannot be issued. Should we have to cancel your course due to personal/unforeseen circumstances, we will reschedule your booking for another course date. Should you incur costs due to our cancellation, CupaCake cannot take responsibility for these costs, nor will we issue any compensation.
Should you not attend your course on the day you have reserved we will be unable to issue you with a refund. We are unable to accept responsibility for circumstances that prevent you from attending the course, such as; traffic, adverse weather, personal circumstances, including medical/illnesses. In such instances, a refund will not be issued.
Should you arrive late for the course, you are welcome to join the group at the time you arrive. However, missed content may not be able to be repeated in respect of the other course participants, as this may delay the program.
From time to time, we may photograph events during the course of the day to post on our website or social media forums, you will, of course, be asked for your permission before we carry this out. We ask kindly, however, that participants restrict photo-taking solely to capture their own cupcakes and not the work of other attendees. No video footage is permitted at any time.
