Motor Neurone Disease
The MNDA’s Awareness Month is in June this year and they have chosen ‘Bake It!” as their theme. It therefore, seemed a perfect fit for CupaCake to host a fundraising event, having suffered a personal loss to this cruel and devastating disease.
The charity event was a ‘Ladies Afternoon Tea’ to help raise vital funds and awareness and to celebrate my dear dad’s memory.
The event was a huge success, and due to everyone’s amazing generosity, a whopping £1060.00 was raised! On the day, guests were able to buy cupcakes, cake pops, and biscuits and also enter the raffle with all donations going directly to the charity. There were some great prizes up for grabs, all donated very generously by local businesses, friends, and family. Everyone entered the baking quiz, donating £1.00 to play, the winner received a lovely good bag of all things cupcakes!
The MNDA provides support for those affected by the disease, as well as their families. Funds are used to buy equipment, provide emotional support and carry out vital research into the cause of disease, which is unknown. The charity relies mainly on public donations.
